IWFL Welcomes Wisconsin Warriors

Austin TX -The Independent Women's Football League is proud to announce that Jodi vonSpreckelsen, representing the Wisconsin Warriors, has been awarded a full membership license and will join the league’s roster of teams for the 2008 season. The Wisconsin Warriors are a new team organized to provide women in Southeastern Wisconsin the opportunity to play tackle football at the national level.

“The Warriors will be a tremendous addition to the Midwest division. This team boasts a large number of veteran athletes. They may be a newly organized team, but with all that talent no one is going to take them lightly. It’s going to be a great year in the Midwest,” stated Kezia Disney, IWFL Chief Operating Officer.

The Warriors inaugural season will feature exciting match ups against the Iowa Crush, Kansas City Tribe and Midwest division powerhouse Chicago Force.

“We are very excited to keep women’s football going in Southeastern Wisconsin. The Warriors look forward to creating a great rivalry with Chicago and the other Midwest teams. We’re thrilled to have an opportunity to play in the IWFL,” Stated Jodi vonSpreckelsen, Wisconsin Warriors team Delegate.

Wisconsin Warriors Join the Milwaukee Bonecrushers Again!
The Wisconsin Warriors will be making an appearance again, by helping at the Milwaukee Bonecrushers home opener on March 21st vs the Chicago Slaughter. The Warriors paired up with the Bonecrushers on February 17th for the Bonecrushers Family Fun Night.
Kickoff for the home opener is at 7:30pm. See you there!

Wisconsin Warriors And Milwaukee Bonecrushers!
The Milwaukee Bonecrushers have invited the Wisconsin Warriors to their Family Scrimmage Night, Sunday February 17 at 4:00pm at the US Cellular Arena. Come meet both teams at this awesome event! This is the beginning of a great future between the two teams!

Wisconsin Warriors Help Honor Women in Sports!
In December, the Women's Resource Center at UW-Milwaukee learned all about the Wisconsin Warriors women's full contact football team. This semester they are holding an event in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, which will include the Wisconsin Warriors on Monday, February 11, 2008 at The Women's Resource Center at UWM.

The Wisconsin Warriors Announce Home Field
Friday, December 14, 2007, the Wisconsin Warriors will call Ameche Field home for the 2008 season. Ameche Field is a field turf field, located at 8730 22nd Avenue in Kenosha WI. The Warriors are thrilled to be playing on such a high quality field. The Warriors would like to thank the City of Kenosha and Tremper High School for the usage of the field.

The Wisconsin Warriors Announce Indoor Practice Facility
November 5, 2007, The Warriors have partnered up with St. Joan Antida High School in Milwaukee for their indoor practice facility. St. Joan's is located at 1341 N Cass Street in Milwaukee. The Warriors will be making appearances at the school's events, getting students involved with the organization and helping promote the high school's core values and ethics.

Wisconsin Warriors Introduces Staff
Monday, November 5, 2007, the Wisconsin Warriors introduced the coaching staff, physical therapy group, the indoor practice facility and home field were announced to perspective players at a group meeting in Oak Creek . A lot of information was given and many new faces were in attendance. The Warriors are very pleased with the turnout.

Wisconsin Warriors Bowling Tournament
Saturday, November 3, 2007, the Wisconsin Warriors held their first team fundraising event. A 9 Pin Tap Bowling Tournament at Classic Lanes in Greenfield . A great time was had by all. Eleven year old Sam Moldenhauer was the winner in the children’s category. Lori Koch was the winner for the adults, with a whopping combined 3 game score of 621!
