Warriors have made their own history!
The Wisconsin Warriors finished their 4th IWFL season completely opposite of what everyone expected of them. The Warriors began their 2011 season with a change in command. A young, raw coaching staff, had big shoes to fill. The Warriors have never had a perfect season as few teams ever do. So why would the Warriors? Starting on the road, this re-energized team took it to the Cougars and stomped over everyone else in the Midwest Division, allowing just over 30 points to be scored on them all season long. Having the honor to host the playoffs, the Warriors welcomed the Shockwave of Portland to their house and battled every second of the game - becoming victorious once again. YOUR Warriors are now 9-0! With a 3 week gap between playoff rounds, the Warriors prepped for an even bigger game - The Quake of California. Coach Penn and his Quake came to play, outscoring the Warriors and claiming the Western Conference Championship title. The Warriors already have their sights aimed at the 2012 IWFL Championships - Tryouts start back up in October!

Thank you!
Thank you to all of our fans, sponsors, friends and families
for supporting the Warriors this season.
Without you, we couldn't play the sport we all love so much!

Warriors advance to Conference Championship Game!
The Warriors welcomed the Portland Shockwave, Saturday June 25th, for the first round of IWFL playoffs. The game was a nailbiter from the first kick off until the final buzzer. The Shockwave scored first only to have the Warriors fight right back and go into the locker rooms at halftime up 7-6. The Warriors came back to score again in the 2nd half and held the Shockwave scoreless until there was about 2 minutes left in the game. The Shockwave scored that final touchdown but was stopped at the 3 yard line when trying to convert the 2 point. Thus giving the Warriors the ball with 57 secs left on the clock and allowed the Warriors to take a knee and advance to the Conference Championship game with a 13-12 victory. The IWFL Western Conference Championship game will be held in Kenosha, Saturday July 16th at 3pm. Tickets are $10 at the gate. Orange tickets will not be accepted.

The following weekend, the Warriors went back to Madison to take on the Cougars for a third time. YOUR Warriors came home with a 26-0 victory. Wisconsin Warriors had runaway win against Minnesota Vixen, 60-6
The Warriors welcomed the Minnesota Vixen to Kenosha in an attempt to gain their 5th victory of the season. On the 2nd play of the Vixen's first offensive drive, the Vixen ran back a long touchdown, putting the Warriors in an unfamiliar situation - down points. The Warriors came back fighting and on the 3rd play of their offensive drive, scored their 1st touchdown and followed with a successful 2 point conversion. Three plays later Abigail Coons intercepts her 1st of 2 picks and runs back 75 yards to the end zone for her 1st of 2 touchdowns, putting the Warriors up by 10 early in the first quarter. Additional highlights include a sack by Sarah Toce, 2 touchdowns each by Melissa Argenzio and Shawn Burrow, 1 touchdown each by Erica Gittings and Leslie Gittings. After the running clock was enforced in the 4th quarter, the Warriors walked away victorious 60-6. The Warriors go on the road to take on the Iowa Crush Saturday May 28th.

Wisconsin Warriors attack too much for Madison Cougars 33-6
The Warriors welcomed their in-state rivals from Madison, the Cougars, to Jaskwhich Field in Kenosha. The Warriors came out fighting, sending the Cougars to punt formation after 3 unsuccessful downs. The punt was blocked by Jodi vonSpreckelsen and recovered by Melissa Argenzio, giving the Warriors excellent field position. The Warriors scored on the first drive and it was all downhill for the Cougars. Highlights of the game included Abigail Coons 2 interceptions and 3 touchdowns, Leslie Gittings 1 touchdown and 1 field goal and Quarterback Stefanie Brettingen 1 rushing touchdown. Next home game is May 21st at 3:00 - Indian Trail Academy Kenosha.

Warriors Go 3-0!
The Warriors packed up and headed off to Minnesota to take on one of the oldest football franchises, the Vixen. On a windy Saturday evening, the Warriors opened up their bag of tricks with an onside kick to start the game. The Vixen hit hard, but the Warriors hit the endzone harder, racking up enough points for a running clock for the fourth quarter. The Warriors held the Vixen scoreless thru the third quarter and walked away with a 46-14 Warrior victory. Highlights of the game include a 74 yard touchdown by Abbey Coons (#20) and a 60 yard touchdown by Shawn Burrow (#32) Next game is Saturday May 7th at home vs the Madison Cougars.
Kickoff is at 3pm.

Warriors Crush Iowa in Home Opener!
The Warriors, welcomed the Iowa Crush to Jaskwhich Stadium for the home opener of the 2011 IWFL season. The Warriors kicked off to the Crush to start the game and racked up a whopping 22 points in the first half. Martha Dantuma had an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter, Jodi vonSpreckelsen had a quarterback sack to start the second quarter and Leslie Gittings and Beth Strozinsky racked up touchdowns. The Crush came out fighting in the second half, but the Warriors scored again and again. Erica Gittings and Elizabeth Ehrke recovered fumbles, Jennifer Grulke recorded a quarterback sack and QB Stefanie Brettingen gained her second rushing touchdown of the season. The Crush scored their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter. The game ended with a second Dantuma interception for a touchdown with no time left on the clock. The Warriors are now 2-0 and head to Minnesota to take on the Vixen.

Warriors finish 2010 as Midwest Division Champions
The Warriors finished their 3rd season as the 2010 IWFL Tier 2 Midwest Division Champions. The Warriors travelled to the Bay Area Bandits, July 10th and suffered a hard fought loss 35-2. The Warriors look to rebuild during the off season and come back fighting in 2011!

Wisconsin Warriors have made IWFL history!
The Wisconsin Warriors finished their IWFL season like the Cinderella story it began as. The Warriors began their 2009 season full of doubt and uncertainty. No one would have imagined that they would have made it all the way to the big show, much less have a chance at winning it. The Warriors gathered all their might and trekked on down to Round Rock Texas. With temperatures over 120 degrees on the field, the Warriors came to battle the defending champion Montreal Blitz. The Blitz appeared to not take the Warriors seriously right out of the gate, as the Warriors score first. The Warriors continue to score and only allow 2 touchdowns to be scored on them. Final score? 42-14! THE WARRIORS WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP! The Warriors have made IWFL history as the youngest franchise to win a championship and the smallest rostered team to win a championship. Thank you to everyone who supported us in our journey this season. Tryouts start back up in October!
